Gyllenhaal As Prince Of Persia In your face, Conan Source: The Huffington Post
Poli-blogi-whatnot The Huffington Post has laid its influential mittens on two new pics from Disney's sandstorms-and-sandals epic Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, showing a buff Jake Gyllenhaal looking suitably sultry (and more than a little confused, truth be told) as the titular prince.
As Prince Dastan, Gyllenhaal will be charged with the onerous task of saving the 6th Century from a dastardly nobleman with designs on the all-powerful Sands of Time, a device that can reverse time and yield supreme power to its holder. Dastan is also charged with the marginally less onerous job of hanging out with Gemma Arterton's Princess Tamina, who will aid him in his quest.

With the Moroccan shoot of the Bruckheimer/Mike Newell fantasy flick wrapped, Prince Of Persia is now in post-production. The US release is currently set for 28 May 2010.
Hmm, the most All-American boy as a Persian? Not the bast casting choice, plus there's the whole " Dude where's my saracen sword?" facial expression either that or he's doing a sequel to Pineapple Express. They should have gotten the guy who was in The Mummy movies with Brendan Frasier Oded Fehr or Arnold Vosloo, or Gorajn Visnick anyone but Jake Bubble Boy Gyllenhaal, he looks about as intimidating as he did in Brokeback Mountain. Looking perfectly good.... this should be another fun summer blockbuster... that and Jake is a terrific actor... hate it when people all start moaning the second they bring out a picture, sure he looks a little odd, but I think it'll be a cool film... ... Read More
