Robert Rodriguez To Direct Nerverackers Futuristic sci-fi from writer-director
Robert Rodriguez, the multi-talented writer, director, composer, cameraman, editor and tea boy, is heading into the future with his new film, Nerverackers.
A futuristic sci-fi thriller that Rodriguez will write and direct for his old chums at Dimension, Nerverackers will take place in the year 2085, when society has become a blissful utopia. That is, until something, or someone, embarks on a crime wave, prompting the authorities to assemble a special unit, led by a guy named Joe Tezca, to fight back.
Rodriguez has always been something of an enigma to Empire. There’s no doubting his prodigious talent, and several of his films, including From Dusk Till Dawn, Spy Kids and Sin City, are enormous fun. But, sadly, he’s never seemed to aspire to anything beyond that, and indeed had seemed to dwell in self-indulgence recently with the likes of Planet Terror – so let’s hope that Nerverackers will finally see him fulfil his true potential.
Nerverackers is scheduled to come out on April 16, 2010, so expect filming to start on this very soon. Then again, knowing how fast Rodriguez can work, he might start next March and still have it done.
I wish there was a sequel to Demolition Man as it still entertaining today, but The Expendables does have Sly in it and brings a few mates with him..
I have always like Robert Rodriguez and his movie so this should be another good 'un. You can also look forward to the Blu-Ray as he does a great commentary and they'are brimmed to the max with great features (and a good recipe to boot). ... Read More
I think I would rather see an actual Demolition Man 2. The original is probably my number 1 guilty pleasure movie, and I won't have a bad word said against it. I quite like Rodriguez, so I hope he makes something good out of this. ... Read More
I really hope this isn't a sci-fi comedy or a daft premise like Stallone's sci-fi actioner.
Let's have some thought up front to create a sensible and believable world, characters that would live there and so on.
One of the keys to the lasting reputation of Blade Runner is the immersive environment and the attention to detail. Great if they could try for something like that..? ... Read More

Rodriguez makes some of the most fun and down right entertaining films out there, I don't see why he should be expected to do any more - I think his potential IS for films like Planet Terror, which both me and my girlfriend loved - he's good at what he does and if he enjoys it, then why does he need to 'aspire' to anything more?
I just hope he finds time to make a full length version of 'Mache... Read More
I like Rodriguez and as well as the three good films Empire mentioned, Desperado and The Faculty are wicked! The plot doesn't sound great, typical actually and if it's anything like Planet Terror I am likely to walk out but I will be seeing this anyhow, based on my judgement of his other films. Maybe the man should give himself more time to allow quality to come out? Once Upon A Time In Mexico could have been so good! The title alone is Oscar worthy. ... Read More
