The Informers Trailer Online Rourke, Basinger and Ryder in LA Source: Movieweb
Missing American Psycho and can't wait for Lunar Park? Well hunger no more, because the next injection of Brett Easton Ellis' controversial and acerbic story-telling - The Informers - is making its way to the big screen, and the brand new trailer is online to prove it.
Taking place during one week in 1983, in a flashback to Ellis' own youth, seven disparate tales of rich and infamous "morally-challenged" hedonists collide. Based on a book of short stories published in 1994, the film was shot in late 2007, prior to the death in January 2008 of one of its stars, Brad Renfro.
The ensemble cast also features Mickey Rourke (pre-Wrestler comeback), Billy Bob Thornton, Winona Ryder, Kim Basinger, Jon Foster (looking a little bit Christian Bale), and Rhys Ifans. Also set to star was Superman Brandon Routh, who didn't make it to the final cut, when his vampire scenes were removed; and also Ashley Olsen, who was due to play Christie but was replaced by Amber Heard. Well, all the boys love her after all.
Evoking strong suggestions that only beautiful people lived in the 1980s, it has a searing soundtrack and looks to be the perfect accompaniment to Mary Harron's American Psycho and Roger Avary's The Rules Of Attraction. The film, directed by Gregor Jordan (Ned Kelly), is due in cinemas May 2009. At last.
Alright, ok, sincerest apologies. I skimmed over the bit where you listed the cast like 5 times too just to make sure I wouldn't do this. Boy oh boy am i red in the face! ... Read More
I saw that image and for a second there I thought Bi-centennial Man 2 was in the making. Quadennial Man would that be? I don't know, but when someone states that there are boobies in a trailer then I go and look and see those tiny little specimens it maketh me angry.

I'm a little confused. While I loved American Psycho and The Rules of Attraction, shouldn't Less Than Zero be included in the last paragraph (yes it departed from the book more than the others, but still a good film, and Ellis warmed to it over the years)
ps. Ned Kelly is a great movie. Ledger, Watts, Rush, Bloom, all hitting high marks with that one and not nearly enough people have seen it. ... Read More
But does have the love of an axe, a chainsaw, or the 'genius' of Phill Collins. Should be alright as I like Gregor Jordan's work, especially Buffalo Soldiers (or How Sgt. Bilko Would Have Really Been Like). It'd be really good if Kim Basigner and Mickey did a scene or two together, maybe just maybe they'll get it on like 91/2 Weeks. ... Read More
Give Brad Renfo a little bit of recognition will ye. If yer mentioning people who didn't make the cut, fuck some who weren't even cast then surely ye can name drop a brilliant actor in his final role. Shit man i'd be half surprised if ye even reported his death ... Read More
