New Spirit Poster Online
The Spirit is a comic book adaptation that is keeping everyone guessing. But this new poster may shed some light on it.

Frank Miller's Sin City was a stylish graphic hit, and the adaptation of The Spirit was widely anticipated to be a similarly moody film.

However, it has been rumored that the movie may be more akin to noir parody Dick Tracy, (with a big dash of Zorro added to the mix by the looks of the poster).

The names of the film's many femme-fatales only adds to this suspicion.

Click here for more Spirit posters. Check out Eva Mendes as Sand Seref, Scarlett Johannson as Silken Floss, Jaime King as Lorelei Rox and Sarah Paulson as Ellen Dolan (OK, OK, so that one is just a regular name).

Plus, Paz Vega plays the most ludicrously monikered of all: Plaster of Paris.

The movie stars Gabriel Macht as Denny Colt (aka The Spirit), and Samuel L. Jackson as his nemesis The Octopus.

Due out January 2 2009, we'll leave you to make up your minds on what to expect.

What's not to like
A detective, lots of gorgeous women, the trailer DID look cool. I was a little disappointed at the time Dick Tracy came out, it was a bit too....garish! That said, it was right around the time Madonna was doing a lot of sex stuff so at the time (and given my age then), that made up for it's areas of lacking! I for one will reserve judgement but I am quietly optimistic! ... Read More

Dick Tracy movie was Terrible !!!
Dick Tracy was a terrible film, one of the worst comic-book/detective adaptations EVER!!! I recall film critics loving the film at the time - but now everyone realise how dire/bland the film actually was. I'm hoping Frank Miller's Spirit is better (at least it can't be any worst) !!! ... Read More

Possible backlash
As was discussed in the blog ´Who will watch the Watchmen?`, this movie may also suffer a backlash from people expecting Sin City 2 but instead get Dick Tracy 2. The first trailer definately painted it as graphic novel noir. Ah well, I was never interested in this movie to begin with soooo...don't know why I'm commenting really... ... Read More
