Woody Harrelson Joins Zombieland
Co-lead in the zombie comedy
Source: The Hollywood Reporter

We’ve got three words for you – and if those three words don’t set your pulse a-racin’, your heart a-poundin’, and your brain a-throbbin’, then you’re probably one of the zombies that Woody Harrelson has just signed on to blow away in Zombieland.

Oh, damn. We ruined it. Erm, anyway, the three words are ‘Woody’, ‘Harrelson’, and ‘zombies’.

Yes, Harrelson is the first actual living breathing human being to sign onto the cast of Ruben Fleischer’s zombie action comedy, in which a pair of mismatched guys, survivors of a zombie apocalypse, find redemption and friendship in amongst the blood and the guts and the grue.

We have to say we like this concept – it’s snazzy, it’s to the point, and it’s almost as good as IRA Zombies. And we like Harrelson, who seems a perfect fit for this material (which we’re guessing will be demented).

Icing on the cake? Harrelson’s character, a zombie fighter, is called Albuquerque. Now that’s a downright cool character name.

No word on the rest of the casting yet, but if it’s as leftfield and inspired as Harrelson’s, then we could be in for a treat with Zombieland.
Chris Hewitt

RE: Woody Harrelson Joins Zombieland
L: Sledge Hammer what I fail to see is how Shaun is an action film.... TO me action films suggest car chases, explosions, stunts etc. Shaun can hardly be described in this way. That is why I said the comparisons are silly. I agree that it wasnt exactly a romantic comedy (although it was about a couple trying to connect during an outbreak) but it will never be considered an action film in my book... sp; yea ok - I see your point person with excellent Avatar, although their is ... Read More

RE: Woody Harrelson Joins Zombieland
L: Sledge Hammer how can an 'action' zombie film be a copy of Shaun of the dead? That film was a rocom remember! Where were the huge explosions if it was an action movie. It seems ridiculous idea that people are thinking that Pegg and co invented the genre. Yes the film was good, yes it was a comedy with horror overtones but it doesn't seem remotely like the film in the article. It annoys me that some people think that genre films begin with one recent film: Ritchie did... Read More

RE: A Zombie film?!? Holy shit! Why hasn't that been done before?
L: keyzersaulsie Zombies are inherently the ideal socially neautral monster for our troubled politically correct times. They are also, ironically, every-fucking-where at this point in time. 28 Days Later was a great idea, then Shaun of the Dead did it best... now it's many imitators still pale in it's shadow. Enough with the fucking zombie revival already. sp; Still, cking awesome. ... Read More
