Exclusive: New Leatherheads Poster Renee and George Get Romantic
Universal has sent us an exclusive new poster for the George Clooney directed Leatherheads. Click the image below for a hi-res version.
There was another poster online yesterday (here) playing up the American football angle on this movie about a sports hero (Clooney) who enters into a love-hate relationship with a reporter (Renee Zellweger) who has come to town to write a story on the rather too squeaky clean new team hero (John Krasinski). But American football is just a sport for men too scared to play rugby, so we're looking forward to this as a movie that seems to be made in the mould of rapid fire rom-coms like His Girl Friday.
What we've seen looks great and we are firmly of the belief that George Clooney as a director can do no wrong. Zellweger showed in the rather underrated Down With Love that she can easily wrap her tongue around a witty, fast-paced line (the reveal of her masterplan in that movie is amazing). So we're expecting big things from this.
I dunno if it looks that big, but he looks about twenty. If he had bigger hair, it'd be Killer Tomatoes all over again.
In other news, this should be ace, although I wasn't blown away by the trailer, I'm still hoping this'll be great. ... Read More

I wouldn't say the head is huge, but there's something about the face that just doesn't look right. It just seems to be on the wrong place on his head, like they photoshopped it down about half an inch.
What I'm really worried about, and the poster has reminded me, is how many times in this film is Renee going to do her "sucking on a lemon" face? The last time we saw her in a period sports flick (Cinderella Man), she was crinkling that visage up something awful. ... Read More
