First Quantum Of Solace Images

Sony has provided us with the first pictures of several members of the cast of the new Bond film Quantum of Solace (we're actually starting to like that now) in character. You can click the pics below for a closer look.

Bond (Daniel Craig) looks as he always does, suave and a bit narked.

Judi Dench's M looks businesslike.

Gemma Arterton's Agent Fields has the rather pure, buttoned up look that Rosamund Pike had in Die Another Day, and we all know what happened to her. So maybe we can expect prim facade (or at least the wig-looking 'do) to fall away and reveal something darker. We already know she has love scenes with Bond.

Olga Kuryenko, as Camille, looks rather pouty and very young. Perhaps her already-announced revenge mission is because someone stole her lollipop.

Mathieu Amalric, as the villain Dominic Greene, is clearly your more refined Bond villain. No futuristic Blofeld style get ups for him. He could almost be Bond with madder eyes.

Giancarlo Giannini, as the ambiguous Rene Mathis, looks perturbed - possibly he's worried that Bond still suspects him of treachery after the events of the first film.

Jeffrey Wright, as Felix Leiter, looks debonair but unsettled. Perhaps he too is alarmed at the way the stakes ramped up towards the end of the last film.

Sure, these aren't the most action-packed shots, but it's early days. What do you want, blood? Actually, you probably do want blood.

We also now have the full official synopsis, which is as follows:

"QUANTUM OF SOLACE continues the high octane adventures of James Bond (DANIEL CRAIG) in CASINO ROYALE.

Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M (JUDI DENCH) interrogate Mr White (JESPER CHRISTENSEN) who reveals the organisation which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.

Forensic intelligence links an Mi6 traitor to a bank account in Haiti where a case of mistaken identity introduces Bond to the beautiful but feisty Camille (OLGA KURYLENKO), a woman who has her own vendetta. Camille leads Bond straight to Dominic Greene (MATHIEU AMALRIC), a ruthless business man and major force within the mysterious organisation.

On a mission that leads him to Austria, Italy and South America, Bond discovers that Greene, conspiring to take total control of one of the world’s most important natural resources, is forging a deal with the exiled General Medrano (JOAQUIN COSIO). Using his associates in the organisation, and manipulating his powerful contacts within the CIA and the British government, Greene promises to overthrow the existing regime in a Latin American country, giving the General control of the country in exchange for a seemingly barren piece of land.

In a minefield of treachery, murder and deceit, Bond allies with old friends in a battle to uncover the truth. As he gets closer to finding the man responsible for the betrayal of Vesper, 007 must keep one step ahead of the CIA, the terrorists and even M, to unravel Greene’s sinister plan and stop his organisation."

I don't mind the title.
I'm sure it'll be relavent to the plot. In the cinema you're going to ask for "two tickets for Bond please" anyway. ... Read More

RE: Style
Do you know what though I'll feel so pissd if this new MI6 gal end's up being a traitor! I mean Miranda Frost was ONLY two films ago Plus Vesper in the last one (though she was being black mailed). Also 006 in Goldeneye! I mean WTF is Bond the ONLY LEGIT 00? Such a cop out unless they make it clear she's a baddie from the get go otherwise it's just a case of 'I saw that coming a mile away'. Hope Im wrong. ... Read More

RE: Style
L: Bluehawk I really hope they continue the style of Casino Royale. It was more gritty than most previous Bonds (aka they ripped Bourne in a good way), but they also gave it this classic, chique tropical evening style. And I've got the feeling they are going to drop that for an even more realistic (Bourne) style, which would be a shame. The Bourne movies are the reason why we have Bond re-booted. FInally the Bond producers realised that you could still make money being true to a ch... Read More

Remake On Her Majestys................
I thought Casino Royale was a decent film although the scene in the casino was a bit long. It was nice to see how Bond started and I hope this film continues i that vein. I think the 3rd or 4th film should be a remake of "On Her Majestys Secret Service". This is one of my fave Bond films. It was a good story, not many gadgets. Ok, George Lazenby wasnt the best but its a strong story that could be remade. As you all know this is the one where Bond got married and died at the end. This i... Read More

God Bless JB
Craig is the best there has been since Dalton and he will be the linch pin in this movie and I even like the title. There will blood. There will be bone crunching punches and kicks and car chases and shoot outs galore and the geezer from the Bourne movies will finally realise who's the action daddy after all... Bourne??!! Pah! I think not. ... Read More
