Gosling and Dunst Want All Good Things
Ryan and Kristen line up love story
Source: Variety

Gosling and Dunst Want All Good Things

Another day, another Ryan Gosling casting story, because Hollywood needs the Best Young Actor Of His Generation to keep working, dagnabbit, and preferably not always in films that (however good) involve icky themes like crack addiction and sex dolls. So how better to use him than to sign him for a love story opposite Kirsten Dunst, called All Good Things. (Spoilers follow, but we can't tell how spoily they are yet)

In the 1980s-set tale, Gosling will play a member of a New York real estate dynasty who falls for a girl from the wrong side of the tracks (that'd be Dunst). All is hearts and flowers - until she disappears, a down-and-out detective stumbles across evidence pertaining to her disappearance and high political stakes mean that people close to the case wind up dead.

As should be immediately apparent from the second half of this plot synopsis, this is not The Notebook 2. It's set to be directed by Andrew Jarecki, making his feature debut after the documentary success of Capturing The Friedmans. Jarecki also wrote the script (pre-strike, we're guessing) with Marcus Hinchey and Marc Smerling. No word on a start date, but if you happen to be at Sundance you could keep your eyes peeled for Dunst, who's there now to promote her directorial debut, short film Welcome.
