Gemma Arterton Is Fields In Bond 22 'Nice-sized role' for St. Trinian's girl Source: The Hollywood Reporter
We told y’all a few weeks back that Gemma Arterton – the spunkiest and sexiest of the new St. Trinian’s girls – was set to play a Bond girl in the now-shooting Bond 22. But the news has only now been officially confirmed by Eon.
The 21 year-old, who will next be seen in a small role in Guy Ritchie’s Rocknrolla and Mackenzie Crook comedy 3 & Out, will play a character named Fields in the Marc Forster-directed Bond flick. In the old days of Bond, that name would have provided a Moore or a Brosnan with plenty of quips (“I’ve always enjoyed exploring new Fields”, etc. etc.), so it’ll be interesting to see how the more serious Craig 007 reacts.
Is Arterton going to be the main Bond girl this time around, though? There’s an eighteen year age gap between her and Craig, so perhaps not. A rep for Danjaq, producers of the movie along with Eon, said that it’s a ‘nice-sized role’ which indicates that Arterton may well be playing the second Bond girl (traditionally, Jimmy always boffs at least two ladies during the course of his adventures – in Casino Royale, Caterina Munro came before Eva Green as Vesper Lynd).
All will be revealed in due course, we’re sure. Bond 22 will be released in November.

Daniel Craig have some quips in Royale, although they weren't quite innuendo ("I'm the money" "Every penny of it") - not quite Moore or Brosnan, but still funny nontheless. Hopefully this will become Daniel Craig's ... thing with the bond girls, perhaps developing over his tenure to become closer to the seaside postcard type humour. Remember that Royale was kind of the making of Bond the man, from green spy to the hero we all want to be / be with, and if the new film really is... Read More
There aren't many Bond girls that are equal in age (or even less than a five years gap) to Bond. It's hardly surprising they're sticking to the young vixen formula. Personally, though I liked Eva Green in Casino - she was a bit too waify for a Bond girl. Gemma Atherton at least has something to cling on to. ... Read More
I think Empire's potential Roger Moore quip should be changed to the far more suave and in no way base:
"I've always enjoyed ploughing Fields." ... Read More
