After spending years in the small but pivotal role of Harry Potter’s Snape, Alan Rickman has decided to stay in the bad guy business – although this time he’s less likely to help our hero than he is to send him to the gallows.
He’s signed on to play Judge Turpin in Tim Burton’s Sweeney Todd, the man who wrongfully imprisons Todd and causes him to lose his family. Todd dedicates himself to getting revenge on Turpin even as he cuts a swathe – literally – through his other enemies.
Burton is now deep in pre-production to shoot the film here early next year. |
