Anthony Mackie, who’s been seen recently in Freedomland and Half Nelson, has been hired to play Olympic track-and-field inspiration Jesse Owens in a new biopic.
James L White, who penned Ray, has written the script following Owens as he rises to international stardom at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Owens ended up turning Adolf Hitler into a seething mass of rage as he won four gold medals against old Adolf’s seemingly “perfect” Aryan athletes.
There’s no director attached yet, but Goal producers Milkshake Films are looking for someone to wave the megaphone right now. |
