Ballet Shoes On The Big Screen For the Yanks, anyway Source: Variety
Cast your mind back to last Christmas. If you peer past the Quality Street wrappers and the enormous mound of your own post-Christmas-dinner stomach, you may dimly remember catching sight of Harry Potter's Emma Watson on TV, starring in Ballet Shoes.
An adaptation of the famous Noel Streatfield children's book, the story followed three orphans raised as sisters, who go to work on the London stage after their guardian goes missing. Potter's Watson starred as the eldest of the three, along with Emilia Fox, Marc Warren, Victoria Wood, Gemma Jones and Richard Griffiths. The film was rather sweet, and is now set to be released on the big screen in the States, presumably to give Potter fans desperate for a Hermione fix something to tide them over until next July.
So this story really has nothing to do with the UK, but it's nice to see a Streatfield story get any attention at all, and it also allows us the chance to congratulate Emma Watson on getting three As at A-level. Who said Hermione was typecast?
Come on Empire, stop making sloppy mistakes. The name of the author is Noel Streatfeild, not Noel Streatfield.
The reason this is such a glaring error? I know nothing about her, and yet I know how to spell her name because Meg Ryan's character talks about her in You've Got Mail (the only instance I can think of in a film where an author's name is actually spelled out). Therefore you should have known, or at the very least done some checking of names in your article.

Did you say "Potter starred as the eldest of the three?". Is Harry Potter; the boy wizard himself, actually starring in this.
