Original Title:

What’s The Worst That Could Happen?

With a critic-baiting title like that, you’d better make damn sure your material is up to scratch, and sadly, this moronic comedy fails on almost every level. Anchored (with a capital W) by the astoundingly unlikeable Lawrence, this crime caper founders from one inept and offensive set-piece to another, without ever chancing upon an ounce of wit.

As the gnarly businessman engaged in a war of wills with Lawrence’s ‘charming thief, DeVito effectively reprises his oily Ruthless People turn, while Lawrence phones in a shockingly unfunny performance.

Ultimately, with director Weisman seemingly in thrall to his Murphy-lite leading man, it’s up to a fine supporting cast to raise this depressing affair just above the realms of the unwatchable. What’s the worst that could happen? A sequel.
