Until his untimely death in Libya in 2011, photojournalist Tim Hetherington charted conflicts and crises around the world with little thought to his own comfort or safety. Vanity Fair colleague and Restrepo co-director Sebastian Junger's documentary commits the work and memory to film.
This may lack depth as a profile of war correspondent Tim Hetherington. But Sebastian Junger provides an affectionate tribute, and a noble showcase for his inspired humanitarian photography.
Unsurprisingly, considering the circumstances, this is less a meticulous study of photojournalist's art than an privileged and emotional look at the life of a friend and colleague.
