Original Title:

Vanishing Of The Bees

The story of the disappearing honey bee is certainly a weird one. Bees have been abandoning hives in staggering numbers, and the debate rages on as to why. It’s a fascinating subject, but this documentary doesn’t help itself with a sickly-sweet American female voiceover and heart-tugging, piano-led soundtrack.

Still, there are plenty of experts on hand to comment, from US lab scientists to protesting French beekeepers — we dart around the globe musing on the causes and mulling over the effects on trade, health and the environment, but the effect is more muted than it should have been.

A fascinating subject expertly covered.
