Kindhearted backwoodsmen Tucker (Alan Tudyk) and Dale (Tyler Labine) head to their new ‘vacation home’ only to be stopped by a cop. “There is nothing there but evil on a scale you cannot imagine,” he says. The evil turns out to be a group of college kids who, after a misunderstanding in a gas station, and in a nice reversal of the slasher formula, become convinced they’re about to be given the Deliverance treatment by the hapless pair and launch an all-out attack. The hillbilly duo are the heart of this irresistibly likable comedy which doubles as a neat lesson about not judging people by their plaid shirts and beards. We’d like to see more of them: Tucker & Dale Vs Predator, anyone?
