A Touch Of Sin Review

Four crime stories play out across modern-day China.

An uncharacteristically furious film from Jia Zhangke, composed of four disparate stories linked by a common theme: China’s vicious capitalist drive. Zhangke’s supposedly true tales of vigilantes and bandits are coldly styled and violently stylised but it’s a film that prowls with purpose and anger.

There's more than a nod to King Hu's Touch Of Zen as Zhangke unleashes a four-fisted chunk of ultraviolent fury. Tarantino would approve.
