Tokyo Tribe is essentially a violent rap musical (!) about warring gangs in a fantasy Tokyo. There are a few striking sets (a crimson room of human ‘furniture’, for example), but it’s sadly the kind of film that, after the exhilarating shock of the opening, rapidly becomes monotonous and unpleasant.
