Swandown Review

Director Andrew Kötting and writer Iain Sinclair travel from Hastings to Hackney in uniquely British protest against the Olympics. The uniqueness? They're travelling by swan.

★★★★★

The ultimate audience-dividing film, this ‘Dada performance’ is a typically offbeat Andrew Kötting venture that sees him travel with Iain Sinclair by swan-shaped pedalo from Hastings to Hackney in an anti-Olympic protest that also celebrates English eccentricity.

From the kind of four-in-the-morning idea that could have been concocted by a bunch of addled students comes a quirky Jerome K. Jerome-ish insight into this strange land. Not for everyone, but still well worth exploring.
