Original Title:

Sunset Park

High concept comedy with Rhea Perlman forsaking her PE teacher duties to become coach of a hopeless inner-city basketball team.

Naturally, they're not overwhelmed by the prospect of having a female bossing them around, but it doesn't take a genius to deduce the eventual outcome. Some reasonable performances but nothing that really stands out. Perlman is her usual biting self with some good use of put-downs and expletives but nothing really new or unexpected.

Strangely devoid of laughs, it takes its moral message far too seriously and adds nothing to a seriously well-worn genre. And guess what they come good in the end.

Seen it all before, done better.
