Legend Of Tarzan’s Adam Cozad Writing Suicide Squad 2

Suicide Squad

Now going full steam ahead on the idea, Warner Bros. is trying to put the pieces together for a Suicide Squad sequel. Though it has held meetings with several directors (including, unexpectedly, Mel Gibson), the only element to fall into place so far is a writer, with The Legend Of Tarzan's Adam Cozad in the middle of making a deal to start work on the script.

Not much is known about the sequel right now, though we can expect the likes of Will Smith, Jai Courtney and particularly Margot Robbie to return as the baddie brigade pressed into service by Viola Davis' Amanda Waller in order to fight a more dangerous threat.

David Ayer, who handled last year's original film, isn't returning for this one – he's busy developing Harley Quinn spin-off Gotham City Sirens with Robbie. And we'll see how much Jared Leto's Joker has to do with the film; perhaps this time he'll have less reason to complain that he got cut out?

The main details will have to wait, however, as now Cozad will be working up the concept and hammering out at least the first draft or so. The Tarzan credit and his previous work on Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit aren't the biggest reasons to have confidence, but the Squad's next outing will likely see more writers before it arrives on our screens.
