In the decade since Dumb And Dumber, the Farrelly brothers have proved wrong anyone who claims that a juvenile sense of humour is neither big nor clever. The politically incorrect aspect of their films has often caused controversy, though, and their latest offering is no exception.
However, with a blatant tongue-in-cheek approach and the emphasis chiefly placed on what the brothers can accomplish rather than what they can't, 'offensive' is not a word that springs to mind. Unfortunately, 'mediocre' is.
With Damon and Kinnear joined at the hip (or more accurately, the liver), plenty of facetious routines arise from their contrasting characteristics. The star duo's efforts are impeded, however, by a supporting cast that, with the exception of veteran Seymour Cassel, doesn't meet their standards. Decent belly laughs occur, but they are spread thinly over a prolonged period.
