Peculiar that this is straight-to-disc, as it’s an engrossing, timely drama with mesmeric performances. Edward Norton is the titular convict, trying to persuade Robert De Niro’s correctional officer to grant him parole — with a little help from a seductive Milla Jovovich… De Niro and Norton are brilliant in their philosophical back-and-forth and Jovovich simply sensational — a livewire, shocking performance from the zombie-killing queen. See it.

Great performances from the cast in this engrossing drama. Don't be put off by the straight-to-DVD connotations.
