James Bond Will Return In 2019

First things first... To head off the expected replies and questions: No, Daniel Craig has not yet been confirmed as returning to the role. But Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have announced that a new 007 movie will be on the way in 2019.

And that's almost all the information provided by today's press release, beyond the fact that Robert Wade and Neal Purvis, who have written or co-written such recent Bonds as Casino Royale, Skyfall and Spectre, are back on board and, one assumes, feverishly bashing away at their keyboards getting a script into shape.

It's entirely possible that Craig will be back for what is currently known as Bond 25, but we don't know who will be directing it or indeed releasing it. The release credits EON and MGM, but stays mum on the news of which studio will be taking on the distribution rights. Sony has had the job for the last few movies, but there has been a lot of interest from others as the deal came up for renegotiation.

As for when we'll see this one, it's set for US release on 8 November of 2019, with the caveat that it'll be in UK cinemas before that.
