Original Title:

Snow Dogs

Miami dentist Ted Brooks (Gooding) swaps sand for snow when he heads to Alaska for the reading of a will — the last wishes of the mother who put him up for adoption when he was a baby.

Cue endless pratfalls and sappy sentiment as the city slicker is given a hard time by a team of unruly sled dogs and grizzled old-timer Thunder Jack (Coburn).

Although it was an unexpected hit in the States (where the timing of its release didn’t coincide with summer), Snow Dogs is destined to gather dust at the back of the cupboard alongside so many other live action Disney movies.

Gooding’s charismatic presence gives the audience the willpower to get to the end, but director Levant (Beethoven, The Flintstones) clearly thought the cry of “mush!” referred to the story, not the huskies.
