Original Title:

Sleeping With Other People

When love addict Lainey (Alison Brie) and womaniser Jake (Jason Sudeikis) meet again years after a one-night-stand, they agree to stay friends — with mixed results. Comparisons to When Harry Met Sally are obvious, but this is by no means a lazy rom-copy. Director Leslye Headland’s follow-up to Bachelorette addresses big issues like the role of sex in relationships while delivering refreshing laughs thanks to a supporting cast who make their value known; Adam Brody’s cameo is a revelation. However, while swinging between comedy and angst, the reasons behind the pair’s commitment issues are never fully disclosed, softening any bite. Luckily, the two leads’ chemistry make it a happy, if not completely satisfying, ending.
