Silence Review

Image for Silence

Sound recordist Eoghan travels from Berlin to his native Ireland. Tasked with capturing an area free from man-made sounds, he's soon seduced by the eerie beauty of the tranquil landscape.

Berlin-based sound recordist Eoghan Mac Giolla Bhride makes a sentimental journey to the Donegal coast of his childhood in this poetic appraisal of Ireland’s landscape, history and folk culture. Its improvised immediacy is nicely offset by its acuity and audiovisual serenity.

Pacific Rim it ain't, but this docu-like curio offers tranquility in spades. An aural bath of a film that will soothe troubled minds.
