Adapted from a popular comic, this Japanese swordswinger is set around the same time as The Last Samurai. A repentant former assassin (Takeru Satô) protects a neighbourhood from dastardly gangsters. It’s a good-looking film and enjoyable for a while, but far too long and shallow.
