Revenge of The Nerds III: The Next Generation

They're back, and it's hard not to wish they'd go away again, for this third retread of the fluke hit displays disturbing signs of taking itself seriously as Robert Carradine, "the George Washington of nerds", sells out to become a yuppie while the jocks try to reclaim a nerd-ruled campus for clod-kind.

It scores low on the crazy comedy scale while pitching in an embarrassing number of speeches about the nature of true friendship and how everyone has just a bit of nerd in their hearts. And treating the cast of Revenge Of The Nerds to the kind of reverential guest star appearances due the heroes of The Magnificent Seven or The Wild Bunch goes so far beyond funny into insane that your DVD player might well implode in protest.
