Rebel Without A Cause Review

Flighty, devil-may-care 17 year-old Jim Stark (Dean) moves to Los Angeles with his parents. Enrolling in high school, he's soon in deep with both the law and his fellow teenagers, including local muscle-brain Buzz Gunderson.

A teenpic landmark and easily the best-directed in the genre’s history, this empathetic insight into juvenile alienation has lost little of its relevance even six decades on. The red-jacketed, Method-pouting James Dean steals every scene, but the ensemble playing is nothing short of exemplary.

A mighty, ageless jolt of teen petulance. Dean is supreme.
