Original Title:

Rebel Without A Cause

A teenpic landmark and easily the best-directed in the genre’s history, this empathetic insight into juvenile alienation has lost little of its relevance even six decades on. The red-jacketed, Method-pouting James Dean steals every scene, but the ensemble playing is nothing short of exemplary.

A mighty, ageless jolt of teen petulance. Dean is supreme.
