Production is well under way on the third Pitch Perfect film, but there are still casting announcements coming from the new movie, with recent Screen Actors Guild Award winner John Lithgow signing on.
Trish Sie is in the director's chair for this one, with Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Hailee Steinfeld and Brittany Snow among those returning and Ruby Rose leading some new arrivals.
As for Lithgow, his character, along with the actual plot, is a mystery. Despite his theatre and musical chops, we doubt he'll be joining the Bellas, but we wouldn't put it past him to sing...
Written as usual by Kay Cannon, with some work from Mike White and Dana Fox, the new Pitch is set for a 22 December release this year. In addition to his work on The Crown, Lithgow will be seen in Miss Sloane (out on 12 May), indie Beatriz At Dinner and is circling a role in Daddy's Home 2.
