This is not a film about ping pong; this is a film about living in the moment and not being afraid of your own mortality, and it puts anyone who’s ever complained about a sore joint to shame. Following eight pensioners to China on their quest to compete in the Over 80s Table Tennis Championships, we are privileged to meet players including seven-time champion Les, who at 89 still lifts weights, Inge, whose discovery of ping pong cured her dementia, and Dorothy, whose passion aged 101 could well be keeping her alive. Delightful, hilarious and completely inspirational.
