Overcoming some bad reviews, the first Ouija managed to turn a tidy profit in 2014. So here's the prequel, Ouija: Origin Of Evil, which explores an earlier encounter with the dangerous, supernatural "toy", bringing forth a new trailer for you to watch.

Oculus and Before I Wake director Mike Flanagan takes over for this one, co-writing the script with occasional collaborator Jeff Howard. Origin Of Evil spins the clock back to 1965, to find Elizabeth Reaser as widowed mother Alice Zander running a scam seance business with her two daughters. But when they add a new ouija board to their bag of tricks, and try to contact a spirit closer to home than the fake ones Alice and her kids normally conjure, they unwittingly invite something very real and very, very evil into their lives, channeled through youngest daughter Doris (Lulu Wilson).

Soon, they're locked in a battle to send the spirit back to the other side. Good luck with that! Horror stalwart Lin Shaye is involved, and Doug Jones helps out on the scare front. Ouija: Origin Of Evil will be lurking in our cinemas from October 21.
