The London arm of the Sundance Film Festival returns to Picturehouse Central this May, and now we have a better idea of what films will be on show. Among the bigger titles on offer will be the UK premiere of Late Night, starring Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling.

As usual, the festival will be a blend of movies, shorts, workshops and talks, with Jennifer Kent's The Nightingale, Sophie Hyde's Animals, and Lulu Wang's The Farewell. A big focus this year will be spotlighting new voices and a lot of work by female filmmakers.

Panel discussions will cover the changing face of cinema, while there will also be a Surprise Film to be announced at a later date.

"We are delighted to host our fourth Sundance Film Festival: London at Picturehouse Central, showcasing the finest independent cinema direct from Sundance Film Festival, Utah," says Picturehouse Cinemas joint managing director Claire Binns. "Earlier this year, the Sundance festival was home to the world’s boldest, most boundary-pushing filmmaking. Gathering work under the rallying cry of 'Risk Independence,' the festival provided a stage for those who dare, explore and venture beyond comfort and convention. Sundance Film Festival: London 2019 will equally honour risk-takers by highlighting independent films direct from Park City that question conformity and challenge the status quo."

General ticket sales will open at 12.00pm on Tuesday 23 April, with priority booking for Picturehouse Members opening at noon on Friday 19 April. You can become a Picturehouse Member now at thecinema chain's site and you can purchase your tickets from today with a Sundance Festival pass; buy yours now here.

Sundance Film Festival: London rims between 30 May and 2 June this year at Picturehouse Central.
