Having earned plenty of money to justify his continued comic-book franchise existence, Logan – better known to some as Wolverine – will be back for another adventure. We just didn’t know when. And though the exact details for his return are still not officially confirmed, director James Mangold, who is developing the next film, took to Twitter to answer a question as to when it might be shooting.

[@R__E__D_R__U__M](https://twitter.com/R__E__D_R__U__M) [@20centuryfox](https://twitter.com/20centuryfox) [@ShuDonner](https://twitter.com/ShuDonner) We are figuring it all out. At the moment, I'm shooting The next [#Wolverine](https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Wolverine&src=hash) after [#XmenApocalypse](https://twitter.com/search?q=%23XmenApocalypse&src=hash).

Previous stories only had Mangold coming up with a treatmentfor the follow-up, though he and Hugh Jackman bonded so well on The Wolverine that it seemed inevitable that they’d team up again, even with all the chatter around Jackman’s comments that he’d eventually give up the claws.

But unlike Marvel’s current strategy of releasing two films a year, Fox, appears happy to stick to one for now. With Bryan Singer’s latest X-Men adventure, Days Of Future Past, headed to cinemas this May 22, he’s also working up X-Men: Apocalypse for 2016, which will probably focus once more on the First Class cast, though nothing has yet been decided. As for Logan, it appears we won’t see another Wolverine film until at least 2017, assuming Mangold shoots after Singer as he indicated. So if you were hoping for more lone Wolverine action, you’d best be patient...
