Weaver Talks New Ghostbusters

As the development of Ghostbusters 3 chugs along, the number of rumours swirling about the movie keeps rising. But the latest doesn't come from the usual sources - Dan Aykroyd or Harold Ramis - but from Sigourney Weaver.

Talking Avatar with Channel 4 News, Weaver chatted a little about her other projects, including the highly anticipated, but as yet still vaporware, threequel. "I’m afraid to say it Ghostbusters 3 is happening, I hope people are excited about that. I don’t know if I’m going to be in it, I have had a couple of calls asking ‘would you read the script’."

So she's read a script. And what has she gleaned? "I know that my little son Oscar – who was kidnapped from me – I think he has grown up to be a ghostbuster." Intriguing! Could be a decent idea. Go on…

"I might be in it; I see nothing wrong with being in it, although I don’t think I will have a big part. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it - he’s a ghost."

Peter Venkman as the new slimer? Hhhm… Not sure about that one. And would Murray agree? Maybe they'll need to get Woody Harrelson to ask him*.

Naturally, it's now exploded across the wild plains of the web, but right now all it is is a possibility. After all, many drafts could have been written since then and details on this sort of movie are always in flux...

*[Spoiler Alert] Worked for Zombieland, after all...
