Two New Thor The Dark World Stills Land

Chris Hemsworth's Thor felt a little out of place on earth - "I need a horse!" - but that's nothing compared to how Natalie Portman's Jane must feel when she's up in Asgard. That said, this photo below seems in indicate she's having a reasonably good time during Thor The Dark World, though it's a safe bet that smile won't last too long...

These two new stills arrive online courtesy of USA Today, who have a few quotes from the stars of the film in advance of TTDW - as no-one's calling it - getting a trailer tomorrow.

Set one year after Avengers, the **Thor-**quel will see Asgard battered by war after invasion by the rag-tag Marauders - only for a worse threat to turn up in the form of Malekith (Christopher Ecclestone) and his Dark Elves, who are out for vengeance against the whole realm of Asgard because of an ancient grudge.

Says producer Craig Kyle, "Like in Indiana Jones, while there's high stakes and high threat and high danger, there's always fun. It's a very complicated blend. Thor is, until Guardians Of The Galaxy hits, by far our most wild, fringe Marvel piece. But that's why it's the Marvel Universe and not Marvel Earth!"

The biggest titbit from USA Today's piece is that our man/god Thor will have to ask for help from his pesky brother Loki: the same pesky brother Loki who recently tried to take over the world. The one who's, you know, in prison.

"Needing Loki's help turns everything on its head," Hemsworth tells USA Today. "And it allows us to explore the underlying complexities of their relationship. It really ends up being a kind of chess match."

Our guess that if Thor plays chess, some of those chess pieces are going to be flattened by a massive hammer sooner or later. Loki, meanwhile, will probably want to play three-dimensional chess and/or Settlers Of Catan, but you'd have to ask Tom Hiddleston for more on that front.
