Grudge / Ju-On director Takashi Shimizu has recently teamed up once again with Sam Raimi's Ghost House pictures for a new spine-tingler on US soil. Detailes of Scared Of The Dark's story still aren't forthcoming (we'd surmise that the dark, and being scared of it, is on the agenda somewhere), but the cast is coming together.

Super 8's David Gallagher was announced last month to take the lead, with support from Morgane Slemp (Friday Night Lights) and Jake Webber (Dawn Of The Dead). This morning the news is coming though that they've been joined by Teruyuki Kagawa (Tormented), and by Yuya Ozeki, who played creepy little Toshio in the Grudge movies.

Drag Me To Hell's Alison Lohman, and Scream 4's Marielle Jaffe are also in talks, but seem not to have signed anythinhg yet.

Evil Dead veteran Robert Tapert is among the producers, and intriguingly the film also seems to have a Sin City style "Special Guest Director" in Ring's Hideo Nakata. He'll apparently be "assisting Shimizu in crafting some of the pivotal scare moments".

Shooting starts shortly, while Shimzu's most recent scare-fest, 7500, is out in the States in August.
