Star Wars Celebration, the annual fanstravaganza and marketing opportunity built around the franchise, is headed to Chicago next month. And, via regular news-breakers The Star Wars Show, we now know that a panel will be held for Episode IX on Friday 12 April.

Co-writer/director JJ Abrams will be in attendance, along with producer Kathleen Kennedy, and there is a promise of other special guests and surprises. Will it just be Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac and John Boyega in an emotional hug circle for an hour? Doubt it. More likely, it'll be the time we finally learn the real title for the new movie and, potentially, see the first trailer or teaser trailer too. Assuming Abrams can be persuaded to let any footage out of his mystery box.

Star Wars Celebration happens between 11 and 15 April this year in Chicago, featuring panels about all things Star Wars. The new theme park attractions, Galaxy's Edge will be among the goodies being pimped, but now that we know – not a surprise, but still – Episode IX will be featured, expect that to be the focus of the event. And here's everything we know so far about it.
