A Star Is Born Leads The 2019 Screen Actors Guild Nominations

A Star Is Born

While the Screen Actors Guild Awards haven't always been the best indicator of what might do well at the Oscars, it does have enough of a pedigree to be worth watching. And to spot which films or TV series (such as If Beale Street Could Talk) have been surprisingly left out of contention. This year, on the movie front, it's a good year for A Star Is Born and Emily Blunt, who scored nominations for both Mary Poppins Returns and A Quiet Place.

Also doing well? The Favourite, which has already been hoovering up trophies, and John David Washington, nominated for his first full leading role, in BlacKkKlansman. The SAG Awards also include stunt ensembles, a welcome nod of recognition to an under-appreciated industry, with that category seeing three MCU movies battling it out against each other and Tom Cruise's real-life madness in Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

You can find the full list for both cinema and TV below. The awards will be handed out on 27 January in Los Angeles.
