Snitch Super Bowl Spot Arrives

Listen, we realise that everyone wants to keep the **Harry Pott****er **train rolling and filling Gringotts coffers with movie gold, but having Dwayne Johnson play the tiny, speedy Quidditch ball seems like a step too fa… Sorry, what? Oh, right. It’s not that. Snitch is actually based on a true crime story and features the Rock trying to take down a drug lord. Check out the Super Bowl ad spot below.

Johnson in this case is a man whose son (JD Pardo) gets involved with some criminal types and is picked up for drug smuggling. With his kid facing 10 years in the slammer and unwilling to rat out anyone to reduce his sentence, pop decides to take matters into his own hands and risk everything to aid the authorities and, more importantly, spare his child from time behind bars.

It’s something that really does happen, though we’re pretty sure director Ric Roman Waugh is upping the action ante considerably here. And given the man in the lead role, that’s no bad thing.

Snitch is set to explode on to our screens on April 5. Keep your peepers peeled for more bursts of Rock(et)-fuelled action as he’s also in the Fast & Furious 6 spot.
