Though Sam Mendes and his Skyfall cast and crew have been shooting for a while, the usual mammoth Bond production schedule means there is still the chance for cast members to parachute in. Case in point: one Tonia Sotiropoulou, who has announced via Facebook that she’s won a small role as a Bond girl in the film.

While the EON team would probably have preferred that the Greek actress waited, there’s no denying the pure enthusiasm in her announcement, picked up by the watchful news scanners of Bond fan site MI6: "Dear friends I officially announce I got a part in J. Bond new film!!! Turkey here I come! Thank u all for you love and support! This is officially the happiest day of my life bitches!!!!” Not your average well-sculpted press release...

She was a little less OTT talking to a Greek paper, but no less joyous: "This is the happiest day of my life so far! I feel very lucky and blessed, but basically, I am very grateful that this happened, for my family and my friends who believe in me. I will do the best, I am very proud because somehow it might be something that will advertise in Greece and I am happy about it."

Apparently, she first came to the producers’ attention when she auditioned for the Severine role, which eventually went to Berenice Marlohe. But her management team re-submitted her for a small role, that of a girl who briefly romances Daniel Craig's Bond in an early scene.

Sotiropoulou has appeared in several Greek TV series and has a role in upcoming horror film Berberian Sound Studio alongside Toby Jones. Oh, and she was also part of Martha Fiennes Nativity art project in London's Covent Garden last year.
