Brad Bird’s mysterious new project Tomorrowland is being kept so under wraps that when Disney boss Alan Horn presented his company’s future projects at CinemaCon on Wednesday, he only showed a title treatment and talked up how much he was enjoying having Bird, Damon Lindelof and George Clooney working on the film. Now we have one more small piece of the puzzle: Raffey Cassidy is joining the cast.

All we know of the plot so far is that it involves a bitter inventor called Frank Walker (Clooney), who has been trying to right a wrong for years, and a mysterious robotic child (Cassidy) who has been around for decades and is, according to the Hollywood Reporter, a master of several fighting styles. Hugh Laurie is on to play the villain of the piece, David Nix.

With Lindelof and Jeff Jensen writing the script, Bird is deep in pre-production getting set for an August shoot and a 2014 release.

Cassidy has made a speciality of playing younger versions of main characters in films, working on both** Dark Shadows** and Snow White And The Huntsman last year. She’s also been appearing as Jeremy Piven’s daughter in Mr Selfridge. We just hope she’s ready to have her brain wiped to prevent her accidentally spilling any spoilers once filming is complete…
