Park Chan-wook's cinematic take on the Old Boy comics was called Oldboy. Spike Lee's cinematic take on the Old Boy comics is called Oldboy, despite early reports suggesting otherwise. See the difference? One's by Park Chan-wook and the other's by Spike Lee. Also Lee's version has a new poster, which you can check out below.

It's just a teaser, and as a teaser there's no glimpse of what Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, Samuel L. Jackson et al. will look like, but with the tally marks it does hint very directly at the whole time-spent-in-prison funtimes that Brolin's eponymous character will have to endure.

For more on what to expect from the American adaptation of the thoroughly Oriental tale, have a listen to the** Empire Podcast **episode below, which sees Brolin's co-star Olsen - in the booth to talk about Liberal Arts - saying a couple of things about the reimagining/re-adaptation. Jump to 51.47 for the Oldboy stuff.

Spike Lee's Oldboy is set for a October 11 release in the US, with us Brits still waiting for an official date over the pond.
