Noel Clarke Begins Shooting 18.104.22.168
Adulthood star back in director's chair
Noel Clarke, Dr Who star and director/ screenwriter/ star/ tealady of Adulthood, has announced he's starting principal photography on his new film 22.214.171.124.
Awarded a 'Rising Star' Bafta earlier this year for his impressive work in British film and TV, Clarke is looking to follow up the success of his directorial debut, Adulthood (sequel to Kidulthood, which he merely wrote and starred in), with an unconventional heist movie based on the four different lives of four different girls, all somehow linked to the robbery.
Clarke's pulled together a good chunk of young acting talent for the project, including Emma Roberts (Nancy Drew); Tamsin Egerton (St. Trinian’s); Ophelia Lovibond (London Boulevard) and Adulthood co-star Shanika Warren Markland. Rosanna Arquette will also appear, as well as Empire favourite Sean Pertwee (well, somebody has to love Equilibrium) and Ben Miller.
As one of the new movers and shakers of the British film world, any project with Clarke's name on it is well worth keeping an eye on. The chance to direct comes after acting roles on a series of other British films soon to be released, such as the Ian Dury biopic Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll and the historical thriller Centurion, starring The Wire's Dominic West.
