From the pitch-perfect teaser trailer to the character reveals on skateboards, the marketing for Spike Jonze’s Where The Wild Things Are just hasn’t put a hairy, clawed foot wrong thus far. And today that hot streak continued with the launch of a new poster for the movie.

As you can see, it’s a sort-of glimpse at Carol, the de facto leader of the Wild Things (voiced by James Gandolfini, furry suit by The Jim Henson Company, CG face by Framestore CFC), hiding behind a tree that he’s scratched with his claws. And it’s absolutely spot-on in evoking a scary, yet wistful, tone that should sum up Jonze’s adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s book.
