The Lego Movie marketing machine, a ginormous brick affair run by one of the Ninjago guys who has an MBA, is gearing up for the film's theatrical release next month. On Monday we had a new TV spot, and today comes a character poster zeroing in on Benny, the ‘70s astronaut voiced by Horrible Bosses’ Charlie Day, who’ll be bringing a little Gravity to proceedings. Click on the images below for a closer look. Fun fact: as we learned at Comic-Con, directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord got their parents to send down their own original Lego figures, and the astronaut used in the film is one of those (the film's part CG and part real bricks). If that isn't the cutest thing to happen to cinema this year, it must mean Uggie from The Artist has made another movie.

The other two characters, Batman (Will Arnett) and Superman (Channing Tatum), will be helping (or possibly hindering) our hero Emmet (Chris Pratt), an ordinary Joe catapulted unwillingly into the role of saviour of humanity. Okay, _Lego_manity.

He'll be facing off against the big bad, President Business, a power-crazed lunabrick voiced by Will Ferrell. Other characters populating Phil Lord and Chris Miller's off-kilter world include car genius Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks), wise Vitruvius (Morgan Freeman) and nasty, conflicted henchman Good Cop/Bad Cop (Liam Neeson).

The Lego Movie will be landing with us on February 14.
