We got our first look at the titular robot in Neill Blomkamp’s Chappie back in July, when the first images arrived around the time of Comic-Con. The marketing campaign then fell silent, but they have now added a second poster, with an even better look at the ‘bot.

The director rolled cameras in Johannesburg at the end of last year, with a cast that includes Hugh Jackman, Sigourney Weaver, Sharlto Copley, Dev Patel, Ninja, Yolandi Visser and Jose Pablo Cantillo. The metallic dude it’s named for is shaping up to be among the sweetest recent robots in cinema history (though Disney’s Baymax from next year’s Big Hero 6 could give him a squishy run for his money).

Chappie, penned by Blomkamp and his old District 9 co-writer Terri Tatchell, sees the title character kidnapped at birth by two gangsters and becoming the adopted son of a strange, dysfunctional family. He’s a preternaturally gifted prodigy who happens to be a robot. With the film due in cinemas on March 6, 2015, expect the first trailer within the next few hours.
