Hey nonny nonny! There's a new film adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing, and it premiered in London last night, with stars Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof in attendance and director Joss Whedon on hand. They got moral support from Ripper himself, Anthony Head, and former Avengers villain (but nice bloke really) Tom Hiddleston.
The film is, of course, Joss Whedon's summer holiday work, shot after The Avengers as a bit of a palate-cleanser. An adaptation of the Shakespearean comedy, it sees Beatrice (Acker) and Benedick (Denisof) reluctantly fall in love despite their determination to fight with one another instead. Their romance, however, is threatened when Benedick's friend Claudio (Fran Kranz) scuppers his engagement to Beatrice's cousin Hero (Jillian Morgese).
Much Ado About Nothing is out this Friday, offering a Man Of Steel alternative to die-hard Marvel fans as well as Shakespearean nuts.
